Our wedding: part 1

After three days of marriage, it's time for my first post about our big day. We both think it was a beautiful and cool day. We only had our civil ceremony on Wednesday (we had our photoshoot and wedding reception on Friday) and although it was very cold, the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day. We got permission from the clerk to personalize our civil ceremony, so we added three songs (The Moldy Peaches - Anyone Else But You, Glee - Lucky and Katy Perry - Firework) and had our clerk read a small text. We also exchanged rings, wrote our own vows and asked our witnesses to read a poem about what it means to be a husband/wife. Our photographer was at the ceremony too and is now editing the pictures. We hope to receive them soon so we can post them on Facebook and this blog. The entire ceremony (and part of the simple reception we held back at my parents' house for everyone who came out to witness our saying 'I do') was filmed, so Klaas is editing the material as we speak. I'm so curious as to how it will turn out.

My beautiful witnesses/maids of honor.

The first picture of us as a married couple.

My brother gave me these as a wedding present. Is this original, or what?

Celebrities for the day. We got married on 12/12/12, so there was a journalist from a national newspaper at our wedding ceremony. Crazy.

When our small-scale reception was over, Klaas and I headed to Ghent to have dinner at our favorite Greek restaurant. We always order the same food because it's just so good.

Afterwards we went to see The Hobbit. Even though it was the opening night, we got good seats. We both really liked it, but then again we are Lord of the Rings enthusiasts. :) We've heard people who aren't that into LOTR say that they didn't really like the movie because it was too childish.

We really enjoyed ourselves, but Wednesday was just the start.

    1. Zorba de Griek. Superzalige plateau du chef (klinkt niet zo Grieks, ma bon ^^). Dat is aan het UZ, wij woonden er vroeger om de hoek. :)
